The Chocolate Spoon Company spearheaded by Rachel Goenka, Founder & CEO, launched its latest concept- House of Mandarin, Bandra’s newest authentic Chinese restaurant, on Thursday, 21st September, 2017, at the Classic Corner Building on Hill Road
House of Mandarin aims to stand out amidst the fusion and Asian diners in the suburb with its exquisite and specially curated cuisine that is summed up in its tag line ‘So Chinese!’ The well- crafted menu, the warm and inviting ambiance and the impeccable service standards, have been all brought together to make a memorable dining experience.
Head Chef-Subhash, Executive Chef-Amit Bhatia and Restaurateur & CEO Rachel Goenka have come together to curate the enticing menu, comprising of contemporary Chinese delicacies to please the taste buds. Amongst a range of enjoyable dishes, the dim sums steal the spotlight. With an extensive variety on the menu, you can choose to have either steamed, pan fried or even baked dim sums. Truffle and edamame dumplings, Prawn Har Gau, Chilean Sea Bass dumpling, Corn & Water Chestnut dumpling, Asparagus and Mushroom Cheung Fun and Roast Pork Puffs are the highlights of the dim sum menu. Other noteworthy dishes include the Aromatic Crispy Duck,Salt and Pepper Prawns, Spicy Mapo Tofu, Jasmine Tea Smoked Organic Pork Ribs, Singapore Chilli Crab, and Flambé Fish. To create options for varied palates, the restaurant has broadened their oriental touch by adding a Sushi counter as well.
Curated by the inhouse Mixologist, Pranav Mody, the beverage menu has a lot to offer too, with Mandarin inspired cocktails like Crouching Tiger, Smokey Xiong, The Mandarin and Zhenzhen being a few signatures one must try. Classic cocktails also feature on the menu along with domestic & premium spirits, beers and wines. Teetotalers have much to choose from as well with unique mocktails like Jade, Mandarin Xiaoling, Fěn Xue and Ruby Woo, apart from milkshakes, fresh juices and aerated beverages. There is a specially curated oriental tea menu to add authenticity and appeal to those who are more calorie conscious as well.
One should definitely spare room for dessert too sweet creations like Banana Fritters, Molten chocolate steamed bun, Lemongrass crème brulee with biscotti and Rachel’s signature Belgian Chocolate and Mandarin Dome with cointreau makes for the perfect ending to a fabulous meal!
This uniquely designed 100 seater has a color theme of copper, gold and terracotta. The enchanting interiors have hand painted murals by local artists depicting different scenarios from Chinese culture which are a signature décor element. Wooden and Gold Chinese trellises and a ceiling made with intricate gold roping create a unique sense of warmth in the restaurant. Dark rosewood furniture and soft lighting accentuate these features to give the restaurant an inviting oriental ambience. The restaurant also has an exclusive Private Dining Area for a small group.
